La Maison Bleue

This home, located in our Les Boisés eco-neighborhood in Deauville, is characterized by its mid-century-inspired architecture, notably featuring a gabled roof and two simple volumes.
Wishing to leave Montreal for a more peaceful setting, the client envisioned this home as a comprehensive solution to her needs. The project optimizes every space while remaining affordable, creating a warm and welcoming place to host family and friends.
The client wanted her new home to maintain an emotional connection to her former Montreal neighborhood. At the entrance, she therefore created a small, inviting space with a parasol and chairs, which she affectionately calls “the alley,” in memory of the one at her old condo where neighbors would spontaneously gather at the end of the day. Although the house was ultimately not painted blue, the name “La maison bleue” (The Blue House) stuck, as a nod to that history and the place that left such a mark on her.
This project also stands out for its focus on energy efficiency and quality of life. Novoclimat-certified, the residence features UrbanÉco’s R-35 wall insulation and a passive solar design that minimizes energy loss. The interior finishes are VOC-free, and all plumbing fixtures are WaterSense-certified.
