Since we undertake both design and construction, we assume full responsibility on both fronts and our clients never end up stuck between a rock and a hard place, between the designer and the builder. Our design and construction teams benefit continuously from a feedback loop that enables us to constantly improve. Consequently, the design team opts for optimum architectural choices with feasibility and construction costs in mind. As for our construction teams, they are thoroughly familiar and well informed about the inherent specifics of all our construction projects and with the high standards of quality expected.

As a general contractor, UrbanEco directly employs a dozen persons: the project manager, superintendent, foremen and carpenters. The entire team is fully invested in the company’s mission and committed to adhere to budgets, deadlines and the high quality standards required for LEED and Novoclimat certifications.

Our network of specialized sub-contractors is well attuned to our working methods and wholly understands what building a healthy eco-friendly home entails.

 

USUPERIOR QUALITY CONSTRUCTION THROUGH RIGOUROUS QUALITY CONTROLS

Close cooperation between the key players along with effective tracking and control procedures ensure a harmonious and efficient building site.

Our main tracking tools are clear deadlines (Gant charts), detailed plans and estimates, detailed budgets and continuous updating.

Quality control is ensured by our superintendent, our foremen and in certain instances, one of our designers.

Moverover, numerous required construction site inspections are conducted by third parties: LEED, Novoclimat, the City or municipality, Responsibility Center Manager (RCM) security assessment, CSST, Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) and Airtightness Testing.

Finally, we must submit photographic and written documentation, including quality certifications from sub-contractors and compliance of building materials and fittings to obtain LEED and Novoclimat 2.0 certification.
